Happy Holidays By FST Brody on 2009-12-27 We wanted to wish everybody a happy holiday season, and we would like to remind everybody to drive safely on New Year's Eve. Now that is out of the way, onto Trader news. A couple of bits. First, we have noticed our servers acting very slowly in the second half of the NFL season. We didn't want to do anything that might disrupt user access during the NFL season, but after the playoffs are done, we will be moving to a new hosting solution. Hopefully the performance will improve. In addition, we are adding a playoff NFL market for this upcoming season. We will have a more detailed post about it in the next week or so, and we hope to have IPO values up this week (at least for the teams that we know are in the playoffs). It should be an exciting addition to the FST game.
Prize day! By FST Brody on 2009-10-09 MLB season is officially over, and the stats are final. So without any further ado, we give you prize day. All MLB shares will be converted to cash in the next 15 minutes. You will get an email letting you know what your total prize was. If you need a more detailed view, just email us back and we will get you a detailed list of the stocks that you owned and what they were converted for.
Baseball payouts By FST Brody on 2009-10-05 Well, thanks to the Twins and Tigers, we have to wait a few more days to make the MLB prize payouts. Once the season is officially over, we will give our stat provider a couple of days to make sure all scoring corrections are accounted for, then we will credit your accounts with the prizes. If you would like to see a detailed list of your prizes, just email us and we can get it for you.
Our apologies By FST Brody on 2009-09-26 I messed up. I fat fingered one of the steps when entering a new IPO, which resulted in the IPO shares not actually being offered. I have corrected the issue and fulfilled all of the outstanding buy offers. If you had an offer that was not filled for the last IPO, please email us, and I will fill the order.
Whistle while you work By FST Brody on 2009-09-22 Sorry you haven't heard anything from us in a while. It has been a very hectic 2 months here at FST. We have had a string of issues behind the scenes that were on top of our official public launch. So along with trying to spread the word about the game, we were having to deal with some unforeseen issues. As busy as we have been, we dropped the ball on MLB (which was our beta test originally). We planned on offering any player who might finish in the money at some point during the year. Over the last two months, we neglected to offer a couple of players who might very well end up winning prizes (Chris Carpenter, currently 15th in Pitchers is the highest). Because we do not want to short change our users, any player who finishes in the money at the end of the year, but was never offered as an IPO, will be thrown out of the rankings. So if Carpenter finishes 15th and Josh Beckett finishes 16th, we will throw Carpenter out and pay Beckett 15th place money (and move everybody else up 1 slot). I want to personally apologize for any of the other issues you might have experienced over the last two months. We are trying to automate all of the processes so that everything will run smoothly for our users.
